MUMBAI: A police constable and a revenue officer were caught in separate ACB traps while demanding bribes on Thursday.

Constable Sajjad Momin attached to Sahar police station was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a builder who is carrying out some construction work at Sahar road in Andheri. Momin had demanded Rs 10,000 per month from the builder to keep mum over the alleged illegal construction. The builder met ACB officials and got the constable arrested.

In the second case, the Thane ACB arrested Raghunath Bhurkhud (42), who works as a talathi in the revenue department in Titwala. Bhurkhud had taken Rs 10,000 to enter the complainant's name on a property document.

ACB officials said the complainant had bought a plot at Ghotsai village near Titwala and had approached the talathi office to transfer the property in his name. For this, Bhurkhud demanded Rs 20,000 and later came down to Rs 10,000. The complainant then approached the Thane ACB, which laid a trap and caught him.
