MUMBAI: The special squad team of the south region additional commissioner of police carried out a raid near Mhada office in Cuffe Parade and arrested 24 persons who were busy in gambling.
The police said that they arrested five matka writers and 24 customers under the anti gambling act. Acting on a tip off the police teams reachednear the water tank back side of MAHADA office sadhu T.L Vasvani marg in Cuff parade. They recovered matka chart,booklet and many chits of matka numbers from the accused. Cash Rs 18, 745 was also seized.
The accused are being questioned.
