Hotel owner rapes staffer on first day of her job, on the run

ULHASNAGAR: A hotel owner in Ulhasnagar is on the run after being booked for allegedly raping a receptionist on her first day of job at the hotel. The accused, Sadanand Shetty (45), owns Dolphin Club hotel in Ulhasnagar 3.

Shivaji Pakhale, senior inspector of Central police station, said, "We have registered case of rape and very soon we will arrest the accused, who is absconding."

According to the police, the 42-year-old survivor had started work at the hotel on Friday. Around 3.30pm, Shetty offered to treat the survivor to lunch at a room of the hotel, where he raped her.

The survivor immediately rushed to the Central police station to lodge a case. However, sources said the police initially advised her not to register a case. The complaint was finally registered at 10pm.
