Report illegal posters on BMC helpline

MUMBAI: Complying with the high court's order on August 6, 2014, the BMC has launched a helpline to encourage citizens to report unauthorized posters and banners.

Mumbaikars can call on 1292 /1293 (while using landlines) or 022-22691292 /022-22691293 (calling from cellphones) and complain about the exact location of the hoardings.

Under Section 328 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888, the penalty for displaying illegal banners, hoardings or posters is between Rs1,000 and 5,000 depending on the size of the material on display.
