Goregaon murder: Cops find no leads

MUMBAI: More than three weeks after a housewife, Rubina Qureshi-Mansuri (24) was found murdered at her Goregaon (W) flat, the police have been unable to identify the killer. Though her mother-in-law was arrested on suspicion, the police are yet to gather strong evidence against her.

Rubina (24) was found murdered on December 13. Her husband, Ashfaq, had said he had returned from work at 3pm and noticed the house door latched from outside. On opening the door, he found his wife's body in the living room. The couple had had a love marriage against their family's wishes. "The mother-in-law was giving conflicting statements. We learnt that she did not get along with Rubina and the two would fight often. A magistrate court has remanded her in police custody," said the police.
