678 more RTE seats allotted by BMC

MUMBAI: The BMC on Monday allotted 678 seats to students who did not get a seat in the first and second round of the online admission process for the 25% seats reserved for economically weaker sections in unaided non-minority schools.

The BMC has also started preparations for another round of the online process.

"The [678] seats were allotted to students who could not secure a seat in round one and two. There were no schools where the applicants were more than the intake capacity so all the students were allotted a seat. Parents can approach schools and confirm their admissions up to August 7," Shambhavi Jogi, education officer, BMC, said.

At the end of round one and two, only 1,153 seats of the total 8,223 were filled.
