The SC sought a reply from the state, the BMC and Pure Drinks on an amended plea that sought a clarification on its October order against over 100 illegally constructed flats in six buildings. On Tuesday, additional municipal commissioner Mohan Adtani said the development plan department would decide on the course of action now.
Residents said that life had not been smooth after the BMC cut off power and water.
"Most of us have chosen to live in our flats despite the essentials being cut off," Vidya Srinivas, a resident, said. "We are hoping something positive will come out for the residents with the BMC's reply in an affidavit in three weeks."
A resident who requested anonymity said the BMC had been evasive with them but would not be able to do the same in court. "Getting information under RTI was also not easy for us," the resident said.
In June, residents had stopped authorities from taking action for three days, but they backed out upon learning that the chief minister had said he would look at all legal options to save the flats.
