The state CET results were announced 10 days before the scheduled date. "As the test was conducted online this year, it was easier to assess, and we could announce the results sooner. As a policy, we will not release the details of the toppers," said Dayanand Meshram, joint director, state's directorate of technical education (DTE).
The CET were conducted on March 15 and 16. The results were released in percentile score.
Four students, who scored 158, and three students, who scored 154, have got 99.99 percentile. Of the 49,276 students who appeared for the CET, 49,252 have qualified to apply for the 45,000 MBA/MMS seats in state colleges. Admissions to 65% of the 45,000 seats will be done on the basis of CET scores. This year, the DTE will not conduct group discussion or personal interview for admissions.
The DTE will invite applications for the common admission process in May, after the final-year exams are over.
Aashna Bhandari, a commerce graduate from HR College, who scored 99.95 percentile, said, "I had taken other entrance exams too, but as my best performance is in the state CET, I will seek admission at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies." She also has a year's work experience.
Monil Jhaveri from DJ Sanghvi Engineering College, who scored 99.95 percentile, expects calls from IIM-Shillong and other newer IIMs. "With my CET score, I can easily get into JBIMS." tnn
