MUMBAI: A 95-year-old priest was found murdered in a temple at Dahisar east on Friday morning. Ravidutt Puri, the deceased, used to stay alone inside the Wagheshwari temple premises for the past 25 years. He has sustained severe facial injuries and the police haven't completely ruled out robbery. Frequent visitors to the temple, locaed 3 kms away from Rawalpada on a hillock, are being quizzed.
Puri was last seen on Thursday evening in the Dahisar market area where he would venture to buy groceries. Around 11.30am on Friday, one of his devotees found him lying on a slab in the temple.
There was blood oozing from his mouth. The cops were informed and Puri was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. A case of murder has been registered.
