MUMBAI: Passengers on the Western Railway may face inconvenience due to a megablock between 10.35 am and 3.35 pm on the Up and Down fast lines between Goregaon and Borivli stations.
The five-hour rail block is being carried out for maintenance work of track, signaling and overhead equipment. During the block period, all Up & Down fast line trains will run on slow lines between Goregaon and Borivali stations. "Some of the suburban trains will be cancelled during the block period,'' an official said.
On the Central Railway, there will be megablock on Up fast line between Kalyan and Thane stations from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm. The Up fast line services leaving Kalyan from 10.30 am to 3.33 pm will be diverted on Up slow line between Kalyan and Thane stations halting at all stations between Kalyan and Thane, further will be re-diverted Up fast line. These Up fast line services will halt at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Dadar and Byculla stations and will arrive CST station 20 minutes behind schedule, a railway spokesperson said.
The Dn fast line services leaving CST will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts during block period and will arrive destination 15 minutes behind schedule.
Said an official, ""Suburban trains are likely to be more crowded than usual. Passengers are requested not to take any risks while travelling. They are also requested to avoid travelling on foot board, roof top of locals and not to board extremely over crowded trains.""
There will be no megablock on the Harbour line today, and this has come as a relief to passengers, especially those coming to CST from Navi Mumbai and from western suburbs.
