MUMBAI: Two private schools in the Mira-Bhayander region have been found to be unauthorized for the academic year 2014-15. In the first list released by the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC), a marathi medium school Chatrapati Shahu Vidyalaya at Penkarpada in Kashimira and King George English medium school at Mira Road have been declared unauthorized.
Parents have been asked not to admit children in the two schools. There are 220 schools in the region, of which 35 is run by the MBMC. The remaining are private schools. Civic officials said that a number of schools are still in the process of submitting their documents to prove their status.
Though the list of unauthorized schools is expected to be released weeks before the new academic year begins, the municipality has delayed publishing the list.
