SSC student, caught for copying, formally arrested

MUMBAI: The 16-year-old SSC student, who was caught copying during the Maths-1 (Algebra) paper on Tuesday, was formally arrested by the Kandivali police on Wednesday morning. The teen was sent to the Dongri observation home for juveniles. Police officials said he has been changing his statements constantly.

The teen had claimed on Tuesday that he had bought a C set Algebra question paper from two unknown men at Borivali station for Rs 500. He was caught at the exam centre, YB Chavan school in Kandivali West, where he had been given a D set question paper for attempting.

The teen is a Borivali resident and his parents have been informed of his arrest. The cops will quiz him further to find out the identity of the men who sold him the paper or whether he procured it from some other source.
