MUMBAI: A documentary film to be screened in the city would delve into the lives of three sex workers at different places and stages of their lives. To be screened at Alliance Francaise's Theosophy Hall on November 15, the film " In the Flesh" would bring into focus the lives of three sex workers and their world in all its shades.

The documentary focuses on Shabana, a street-smart woman in her late 20s who works on the dark higways in Mumbai. The film then brings into focus Bhaskar, a transgender also in early 20s who sells sex to men for a living in Kolkata. Third character in the film is Uma, an aging and former theater actress who stays in a brothel in Kolkata where she used to work.

The film, made in 2002 by director Bishakha Dutt, takes its viewers into the characters' workplaces, lives, battles and conflicts and throws open their world with all its nuances. The film will be screened at 6.30 pm and the director would be present for a conversation after the screening.
