MUMBAI: On International Coastal Clean-up Day, Domino's Pizza employees came together for a beach cleaning drive on Thursday. Beaches, rivers and lakes were cleaned of debris, waste, plastic bags by employees who came forth to volunteer for this drive. The activity took place in Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Ahmedabad, Nasik and Aurangabad, a day after lakhs of worshippers celebrated Anant Chaturdashi by immersing Ganpati idols in the water bodies.
After Anant Chaturdashi, cleaning up beaches and other water bodies is a keen concern for local communities. The clean up initiated by Domino's Pizza was a collective effort of all employees to address this issue. At 6 am, over 140 employees from Domino's assembled to participate in the clean-up drive and be a part of the social cause.
On the coastal clean-up drive, Ajay Kaul, CEO, Jubilant FoodWorks Limited said, "We have always believed that as a corporate, we have a very important social responsibility towards the society and the environment. We have always tried to inculcate and mentor each of our employees on the same lines. The coastal clean-up drive initiated by Domino's Pizza in western India is our sincere efforts to give back to the community. This is a collective effort which has been undertaken by our employees to contribute towards a cleaner and healthier environment in these particular regions."
