MUMBAI: The Marine Drive police arrested a 29-year-old murder case convict who was on life imprisonment for two separate murder cases in an accident case. On the evening of 17 December the police officials of Marine Drive had received a message through a wireless about an accident which took place near N S Road, near Churchgate station. Soon after which the police officials went to the spot where that the accused who rammed his bike on a parked car had fled from the spot, leaving behind the victim Karl Shahrukh Kapadia a businessman with minor injuries. Police found a wallet from the spot from which parole papers of a convicted murderer who was facing life imprisonment was found.

"The parole was in the name of Mohammed Hasan Salim Shaikh who is a convicted murderer and is facing life imprisonment in Nashik jail," said API Rajendra Patil of Marine Drive police station. After looking at the parole papers which had ended on 27 November the Marine drive police officials started hunting for the absconding prisoner. The police caught him and sent to Nashik jail. Shaikh had committed two murders one in the jurisdiction of Tardeo police station and another in the jurisdiction of N M Joshi Marg police station some years back.
