Credit card racketeer arrested

MUMBAI: The Crime Intelligence Unit ( CIU) of the Mumbai police on Friday arrested two person involved in the credit card cloning racket. The two accused have been identified as Mohammed Aslam Shaikh and Asad Ismail Sayyed. Sayyed is the main accused who used to pass on the secret information of the debit/credit cards to the gang members in Mumbai. The modus operandi of the gang is that they would simply fetch the credit and debit card details of the international card holders and than would make a duplicate card. Once the card is made the accused would than buy airline tickets and sell off.

Police arrested Sameer Kasim Shaikh and Tauffik Rajabali Mistry and seized 30 mobiles, around 25 SIM cards, four laptops, 20 international air tickets, 25 credit and debit cards and two data cards from their possession. Police have launched a manhunt for six people including two bank officials and a senior call centre employee who used to pass on the credit card information to the gang.
