BJP MLA demands security audit of Parsi colonies

MUMBAI: BJP MLA from Bandra West Ashish Shelar has demanded a security audit of all Parsi colonies in Mumbai.

Raising a point of propriety in the assembly on Wednesday, Shelar said the murder of Darius Khambhatta on March 8 has raised the issue of security of Parsi residents in the various Parsi colonies. He said a large number of senior citizens lived in these colonies. While the alleged murderers were caught within nine hours of the incident, he said the government needs to take special measures to ensure the security of the senior citizens and demanded a security audit of these colonies.

He also demanded action against the illegal autorickshaw drivers who are parked outside the Bandra Parsi colony.
