Second suicide from BWSL in less than a month

MUMBAI: An unidentified man (aged around 30 years) ended his life by jumping off the Bandra Worli Sea Link (BWSL) on Tuesday. Like the earlier cases, this person too arrived on the sea link from Worli end in a taxi and after alighting from it ran towards the railing and jumped off around 5.30pm. The Worli police and the Fire brigade team is scouring the water searching for the person's body. This is the second case of suicide from the BWSL that has been reported in 2015.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone III) S Jaykumar confirmed about the unidentified man who ended his life by jumping the sea link. "The person jumped from North bound direction. He came in a taxi and jumped at 4.2km on sea link from Worli end. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. However it is still clueless the reason for the person to end his life," said Jaykumar.
On January 24, Byculla resident Akshay Madhar (23) took a taxi from near Khada Parsi statue to go to Bandra. Midway on reaching the sealink Madhar on pretext of throwing out stopped the cab and jumped off. A day after the incident Madhar was identified by his friend after he went through the CCTV footage of the incident. However, Madhar's body is yet to be traced.
