Dahanu circle officer caught taking bribe

MUMBAI: A Circle Officer from Kasa in Dahanu taluka of Palghar district was arrested while allegedly accepting bribe from a man for including his mother's name in the ownership extract of a property.

The Palghar Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught Devman Shirsat (45) red handed taking Rs 10,000 from the complainant. Shirsat had allegedly demanded Rs 15,000 but later settled for Rs 10,000.

Shirsat was caught taking the cash outside his office on Tuesday. He has been booked under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The ACB sleuths are examining details of his income and assets.
