Kharghar, Kamothe toll plaza vandalism

After the MNS activists vandalized three toll booths at the Kamothe toll plaza on the Panvel lane on Tuesday around 4.45am, Kamothe and Kharghar cops were deployed at the two spots to ensure law and order was maintained.

However, from 8.00am onwards as the vehicular movement on the Sion-Panvel highway increased, traffic snarl ensued on both the lanes. The vehicles moved at snails pace causing traffic snarl from Kopra village till the Kamothe toll plaza, as most of the motorists quarrelled with the toll plaza attendants for abruptly starting the toll plazas.

To decongest the vehicular traffic, the toll collection agency staff was compelled to allow some vehicles to pass the toll plaza without paying the toll charges. By around 8.45 am, the traffic along Mumbai lane got decongested. However, toll is being collected amidst police security.
