Woman dies of epilepsy after falling into pond in Vasai

MUMBAI: A 24-year-old woman died of epilepsy after slipping into a pond while washing clothes in Vasai on Tuesday. Manisha Patil a widow and mother of a three-year-old girl was washing clothes near the pond in Navjeevan area of Valiv, Vasai (east). Police said that slipped into the pond and got an epileptic attack.

She drowned and her body was fished out by the fire brigade. A case of accidental death has been registered. The body has been send for autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death, said the Valiv police. Manisha, whose husband died four years ago was undergoing treatment for epilepsy, her family told the police.
