The accused (name withheld) was caught from his hide-out in Bhandup few hours after he committed the offence. "During the probe, the accused confessed that he was annoyed with Mishra for rushing a person to hospital and saved his life who he has tried to kill few years ago. He wanted to take revenge and was eyeing an opportunity to bump off Mishra," said a Bhandup police officer.
Around 11.45pm, the accused walked into the hotel and pointed a country made revolver at Mishra who was present at the counter. In the complaint, Mishra said, "I was standing at the counter when the accused walked in and before I could react he shot at me. Somehow I ducked and saved my life. But my two other staffs suffered injuries when the bullet stuck on one of their finger and leg and the other suffered injuries when glass shred hit him."
The accused charged on Mishra when the bullet missed him. "He waived chopper at Mishra and the staffs injuring them before he fled away leaving behind the weapons he used in the crime," said the police. Mishra suffered injuries on his head while the other two — Shivsagar Gaud suffered leg injury when glass shred hit him and Vikaskumar Rajat suffered bullet injury. They are getting treated at Mulund General Hospital.
