MUMBAI: The Vasai tehsildar's office on Monday seized clarified butter produced in a factory without adequate license. Acting on a complaint, the district officials raided the factory of Royal Ghee at Jivdani Industrial Estate, Dhumal Nagar, Valiv of Vasai (east). The factory was producing cow ghee for the past two years without any licence to carry out the production. The butter was sold in the Vasai-Virar region and neighbouring Thane and Palghar areas.
The raid team seized 13 kilos of ghee packed in 400 boxes and another 13 kgs of ghee stocked in 19 drums. No quality check was carried out before despatching the products for sale in the market. A report of the raid has been send to the Valiv police station. No arrest has been made. Sent on my BlackBerry® from Vodafone
