On NCP president Sharad Pawar's statement that Modi was taking sabhas even in talukas, Modi said that the statement only reflected the manner in which the 'two' parties (Congress and NCP) were pained to see the huge turnout at his rallies. "The number of people attending rallies to listen to me is causing restlessness among the parties. For me, being among the masses is a matter of pride," Modi said.
In Nashik, Modi criticized Pawar for spreading false information that the BJP government had banned onion exports. The previous UPA government had, in fact, banned export of onions four times, Modi said. He also said that Local Body Tax (LBT) in Maharashtra was in fact 'Looto Bato Tax.'
Meanwhile, union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in Pune replied to allegations that the BJP was "using" Chhatrapati Shivaji's name for political purposes. Prasad said that his party had taken various initiatives as a mark of respect to Shivaji Maharaj. "Leaders of Congress and NCP should tell us what they have done for Maharaj in the last 15 years. What has happened to talk about erecting Shivaji's statue in the sea?" he asked.
