MUMBAI: The session court on Friday granted interim bail to BJPcorporator from Pathanwadi in Malad, Dyanmurthi Sharma, who was accused of demanding bribe from a transporter in Malvani. The court while granting interim relief to Sharma directed him to attend the ACB office every day for investigation.
Sources said that they will now record his statement and make a strong case as there is enough material evidence to nail Sharma. In fact Sharma's own driver and Personal assistant who was caught red handed have spill the bean on him.
On Tuesday Sharma's two employees and a paan stall owner were booked by ACB for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a transporter. Anti-corruption bureau officials said Sharma went in hiding immediately after learning that his subordinates were trapped in ACB net. PA Brijlal Tiwari; driver Avdhoot Tari; and paan stall owner, Dinesh Yadav , were caught red handed accepting bribe.
The complainant claimed that Sharma used to harass him and told him to pay Rs 50,000 per truckmonth if he wants to run his business in the area. Sharma had asked complainant to pay the money to Tari, who would hand it over to his PA, who would then deposit the same with Yadav. Sharma would collect the money from Yadav.
