However Ailani claimed that this is a baseless allegation against him to malign his image and demanded Thane police undertake a high-level probe into the matter to find out really who made the call and on whose behalf.
Omie, on Tuesday morning, lodged the complaint with Central police station in Ulhasnagar alleging that a person identifying himself as Ravi Pujari called up on his election campaigning number at around 12.30am telling him not to contest the election.
Talking to TOI, Omie said, "Caller threatened and abused me to not contest but when I refused to follow his order he threatened to kill me".
On the basis of complaint of Omie, police have registered NC against unknown caller and have started a probe into the matter.
Ailani, meanwhile, said that BJP has become powerful in Ulhasnagar city and Omie who is keen to contest election after his father was sent to jail is afraid of defeat in the election and this was the reason he had made up a false story of threat call.
