Mohammed Ali alias Amdare (40) was nabbed when he arrived to meet his associate in Gavanpada in Mulund on Tuesday. Amdare has been booked under IPC 224 of evading arrest and handed over to the Nashik Central jail.
According to police inspector Deepak Patangre, Amdare who has three to four criminal cases was sentenced to life in a murder case of Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Marg police in Wadala. Within two years Amdare managed to get a parole on the grounds that his wife was suffering from some disease. "He had come on two months parole but he never return and instead he and his wife along with two children secretly shifted to Badlapur and started staying under a fictitious name,'' said Patangre. In Badlapur he changed his identity to Noor Mohammed Ali Shaikh.
During probe it was transpired that in Badlapur he started working as a welder for a fabrication company but he made a mistake when he called up his old assocaite who too had recently come on parole. "He narrated his story of how he managed to give cops a slip. But his friend passed on the tip off to police and we nabbed him,'' said inspector Pandrinath Waval.
