Mumbai Metro ridership crosses 1 cr in one month

MUMBAI: Mumbai Metro, which completes one month on July 7, has crossed the one-crore ridership mark.

A Mumbai Metro One Private Ltd spokesperson said, "The total number of ridership registered more than 1 crore on Sunday. Since commencement of operations on June 8, Mumbai Metro trains have made over 13,000 trips and covered over 1.5 lakh km with more than 99% service efficiency.

Soon after the launch, Mumbai Metro registered over 2.4 lakh daily ridership, which increased to 3 lakh and further to 5 lakh. At present, passengers pay Rs 10 as promotional fare for one-way travel between any two stations. A decision on whether or not to extend the promotional fare will be taken on Monday.
