Men stealing from bank ATMs held in Boisar

MUMBAI: Boisar police has arrested a gang of three who used to rob bank ATMs and destroy its CCTVs.

Rehaan Khan (22), Ashish Singh (26) and Vijay Gupta (29) have confessed to have robbed the Axis Bank ATM at Shivaji Nagar in Boisar last month.

Police said that the arrested men targeted bank ATMs that were unguarded. They used to first destroy the CCTVs and then robbed the cash from the machines.

Police believe that more members of the gang are still on run. They move on two-wheelers and identify unguarded ATMs.

The arrests were made following a tip-off which informed the police that the men were visiting an ATM in Boisar. They are residents of Palghar and Dahanu.

Police hope to crack a number of ATM theft cases with this arrest.
