MUMBAI: Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan will throw open two crucial infrastructure projects - the Southbound arm of the Kherwadi junction flyover and the Panjarpol-Ghatkopar Link Road — on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 3 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. respectively.

The 580-meter long Southbound arm of the Kherwadi flyover provides three lanes and is set to clear traffic congestion at the Kherwadi junction. The flyover will also help motorists enjoy a signal-free drive from Dahisar to Worli.

The Southbound arm of the flyover has been completed in 226 days.

The completion of the 2.80-km Panjarpol-Ghatkopar Link Road also means the completion of the 16.4-km long Eastern Freeway. The Freeway now provides unhindered connectivity from the Southern Mumbai to the eastern suburbs, what with the motorists reaching Ghatkopar from Orange Gate in a mere 30 minutes. The motorists will avoid traffic congestion at Dadar, Sion, Chembur, Kurla and Mankhurd.
