4 booked for cheating foreign job aspirants

MUMBAI: The Bangur Nagar police have booked four accused on Thursday for allegedly duping nearly 100 job aspirants of Rs 32 lakh after promising them work in South Africa. The accused provided fake documents to the victims to facilitate their travel to Africa. On Tuesday, the victims approached the police after they realized that the documents were fake. The accused, who ran a recruitment agency, have been identified as Ashok Singh, Rajesh Singh, Ranjeet Tiwari and Amrin. "Two months ago, the accused set up an office near Malad link road," said a cop. In May, the accused issued an advertisement stating that there were vacancies for supervisors, fitters and plumbers in South Africa.
