MUMBAI: Three BEST employees kicked the habit of chewing tobacco at the launch of a campaign on 'Tobacco free BEST' at Electric House in Colaba.
The BEST will also strictly observe the drive by banning chewing of gutkha, tobacco and smoking cigarettes in buses and at the bus stops.
"Those caught will be imposed with stringent fines," said a senior BEST official.
On Friday, the BEST officials also set up a havan in which it few tobacco products and appealed to staffers to refrain from tobacco products at its various depots and bus stations.
The campaign was launched on Friday in collaboration with Cancer Patients Aid Association, Salaam Bombay Foundation and Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya on occasion of "World No Tobacco Day 2014".
