Minors rescued from flesh trade in Mumbai

MUMBAI: Four girls, including three minors were rescued from a resort in Nalasopara where they were allegedly forced into the flesh trade.

Five persons including the resort manager Sudarshan Kotian (28) who doubled up as a pimp have been arrested. The anti-human trafficking cell of the Thane rural police raided the Vikas Resort on Rajodi beach of Nalasopara (west) on Thursday night. The police send a decoy customer and found Kotian (28) pimping for the girls.

Kotian and four other employees have been booked under sections 366 (a) (procuration of minor girl), 366(b) (Importation of minor girl from foreign country), 370(buying or disposing any person as a slave), 372 (selling minor for purposes of prostitution) and 34 (common intent) of the Indian Penal Code and under relevant sections of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking act. The police are in process of investigating allegations by the victims.
