Civic chief Sitaram Kunte said that a joint tour of civic tree authority members and experts will be organised to survey the mangroves and based on their observations, measures will be taken to protect mangrove forests in the city. A computer presentation will also be made on this issue, he said.
As a part of its pre-monsoon preparations, the BMC has pruned more than one lakh trees across the city.
The civic body has also given permission to hack 29 trees along the Western Railway land, while 407 trees have been trimmed, said deputy municipal commissioner (disaster management) SS Shinde.
