A senior clerk of Agarwal college in Kalyan and two TYBcom students have been arrested and the teams have fanned out in Thane to arrest few more persons involved in the racket.
On Friday, the sixth semester TYBCom Marketing & Human Resources Management paper was leaked just an hour before the exam. While nearly 64,000 students took the test across 223 centres, Mumbai University authorities, alerted about the leak just half an hour before the exam and sent a new paper to all the centres electronically.
Most centres started the exam about 15 minutes after the stipulated time of 11am, while the paper started about half an hour late at some centre. However, colleges gave students additional time to finish the questionnaire.
The cyber police which jointly with the crime branch unit 8 cracked the case said the Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Ltd's weblink was opened by the senior clerk of Agarwal college a few hours before the paper and leaked it to students through Whatsapp.
"The two students than circulated the set of questionnaire to other students for monetary benefits. We are looking for some more persons in the case," said Deepak Patangre.
These arrest comes just after the crime branch last week arrested police constable Uday Kadam and Kandivli school principal Mangesh Laad for leaking the SSC Algebra papers.
Kadam's son was caught copying the Algebra paper after which he was arrested and during his interrogations Kadam and Laad's role cropped in.
