MUMBAI: The railway administration has planned various amenities for passengers on the Harbour line network, which is being extended till Goregaon.

Apart from escalators, concourses and elevators, plans are afoot to construct a subway on the northern side of Jogeshwari station so that passengers can get access to the Harbour line platforms . Thousands of commuters , who travel from CST to the western suburbs daily, will benefit from the extension of Harbour line services from Andheri to Goregaon . Currently, suburban trains run on the Harbour line network from CST to Andheri (via Bandra). The work on extending the network was being undertaken by the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation under the MUTP-II scheme.

In February, the project got a shot in the arm after the BEST handed over a portion of its land at Jogeshwari to the railways. The 104-sq-m plot owned by the undertaking was a hindrance to the project as it came in the way of laying new tracks.
