Youth killed dad for plotting mom’s murder

MUMBAI: A youth, Suresh (20), was arrested on Saturday for killing his father, Dattu Attapalli (43), and dumping the body in a drain in Dahisar recently. The father and son were sweepers and lived in a room inside Vitthal temple building.

Suresh told the police his mother lived in Andhra and Attapalli wanted to kill her as she had refused to send money. Attapalli had planned to go and kill her on December 31. Suresh tried to change his father's mind, but in vain. Hence, he killed Attapalli and dumped the body in the drain of the temple building. He covered it with tiles and sealed it. But the drain choked and the temple management called a plumber, who found the body. tnn
