In his confessional statement, Jundal is understood to have given a deep insight into the Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Taiba's role in the 2008 Mumbai strikes.
According to the prosecution, Jundal had escaped from Beed to Pakistan via Bangladesh in 2006. The crime branch had said that Jundal was one of those people who came to bid farewell to the terrorists when they were leaving Karachi for Mumbai.
He was first arrested by Delhi Police on June 25 last year after he was deported from Saudi Arabia. On July 20, 2012 the Mumbai crime branch took Jundal into custody in the 26/11 terror attack case. Jundal is suspected to be one of the handlers of the 10 Pakistani terrorists involved in the 26/11 carnage and had had allegedly taught them Hindi. Pakistani gunman Ajmal Kasab identified Jundal as his handler. On October 16, last year the Crime Branch had filed a supplementary chargesheet against Jundal in that case.
