Minor complains of rape by acquaintance

MUMBAI: A 15-year-old girl has lodged a complaint with the Kurar police of being abducted, taken to Gujarat and raped by an acquaintance. The police have sent a team to Gujarat and are probing further.

The teenager stays at her native place with her mother, while her father resides in Mumbai. The mother-daughter duo had come down to Mumbai to spend a few months with the girl's father. On September 5, the girl left home. The girl later told the police that someone drugged her at Kandivali East after offering her a sweet laced with sedatives. When she came to, she found herself at Vapi in Gujarat. She has stated that her acquaintance raped her there. On September 13, she returned home on her own.

"We have sent the victim for a medical examination and are making inquiries with her. She has been changing her statements frequently. A case has been registered under sections 363, 366 and 376 of IPC for abduction and rape," said an official from Kurar police.
