Fake policemen arrested in Uran

MUMBAI: Uran police has arrested four men who used to pose as policemen on the roads and highways and loot motorists and truckers.

One of the truck drivers, Jeetendra Rajbhor, who was beaten up by these fake cops and cash worth Rs 6,000 snatched, recently complained to the Uran police.

Police immediately swung into action and arrested the imposters. Their motorcycles with fake police stickers were also seized.

Names of those arrested are: Girish Ramanna Mhatre (36), Jamir Dastgir Shaikh (25), Sunil Kailash Vishwakarma (22) and Sandip Popatrav Gaikwad (28).

They were held under sections 394, 170, 171 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
