Rural art comes to Mumbai mall

MUMBAI: Some interesting glimpses of rural artworks is set to be showcased in a Mumbai based mall from January 17 to 20. Inorbit Malls India Pvt Ltd has partnered with ArtworksIndia.com to promote Rural Indian Art by hosting a Rural Art Exhibition.

Inorbit is providing a platform for the rural artisans from the interiors of Maharshtra to display their artwork at Malad till January 20 between 11am and 10.00pm. This unique art exhibition will feature almost 400 artworks illustrating the contemporary, folk and popular art of India. The Rural Art Exhibition will exhibit artwork like paintings, and sculptures among others; artists will also conduct demos, workshops. The event will be the first of its kind event whereby local artists from different areas, demographics and backgrounds will be able to display diverse artworks under single roof on a big scale. This exhibition will be focused on rare art with rural touch and traditions from a group of reputed and contemporary artists. Speaking on the occasion, Kishore Bhatija, CEO of Inorbit Malls, said: This exhibition will be one extraordinary experience for all the art lovers around the town.

All activities and artwork showcased during the event will help bridge the gap between rural and urban India. This exhibition will also offer a platform for artists to bring forth the hidden talents and unusual crafts of rural India. Through this event, Inorbit promises to capture the true nature and the essence of rural life.'' Rural artists face several issues due to which they cannot showcase their beautiful work, market their artworks and share the splendid skills with the rest of the world. Inorbit will provide a platform for all the artists from various rural backgrounds to overcome various hurdles they face in terms of promotion, sharing and marketing their art.

People of Mumbai will not only be able to enjoy high quality art but can also learn a great deal about rural traditions, nature and Indian history through diverse artistic methods and styles. The artist line up include Ashok Dharmadhikari showcasing his artwork based on the exquisiteness of simple life, Sampat Nayakawadi who holds a G D art degree in painting from J J School of art, Suryakant Nimbalkar who expresses his affections for panorama through his artwork and the contemporary artist, Parshvanath Nandre, whose artworks are inspired by Buddha. Other artist to look forward to be Shivaji Mhaske, Prakash Kortikar, Aslam Mulla, Gauri Chousalkar, Mangesh Patil, Jayshree Magdum, Mahaveer & Meena Patil, Vishal Rajas, Yadnesh Nivaalkar, Saroj Parijat, Purva Joshi and Anil Kamble.
