Dhoble now patrolling city colleges

MUMBAI: Assistant commissioner of police Vasant Dhoble is now patrolling colleges to round up eveteasers in the Vile Parle-Santa Cruz belt.

After Delhi's gangrape, city cops were told to visit colleges, hold talks and encourage students to report sexual harassment.

Dhoble, who drew flak for his crackdown on nightlife , discovered that women we reluctant to report such crimes. So, in his effort to catch the eve-teasers in the act he has started patrolling popular hang-outs near colleges . "I decided to visit colleges in my civvies as miscreants create trouble in those areas," Dhoble said.

The police have also installed complaint boxes outside educational institutions urging students to write about miscreants.
