Living legend Lata Mangeshkar launches her 'Humsafar' calendar 2013

MUMBAI: The new year brings with a sea of calenders and this week saw legendary play back singer Lata Mangeshkar launch hers for 2013. The calendar called 'humsafar' has a theme which captures memoirs and songs of her favourite film actresses from Madhubala to Madhuri Dixit.

Bharatratna Lata Mangeshkar has now beenperforming as a playback singer for over six decades. In her notable career the singer has lent her melodious voice to three generations of actresses. If one has to count the immortal renditions of each of these actresses, it would be as futile as counting the number of stars in the universe. But the legend decided to speak about some of her favourite Actresses which she shared a close bond with. This led to the creation of this theme calendar for 2013 - 'Humsafar'. The calendar is into its third year now.

The launch for 2013 was held in Mumbai at Prabhu Kunj, her residence.

"The calendar is in Black and White as itdepicts the era I have lived in, where in I have sung for versatile actresses in my 70-year long career. The Humsafar calendar is a tribute to the yesteryear actress from Madhubala, Nargis, Meena Kumari, Waheeda Rehman, Nanda to Dimple Kapadia and Madhuri Dixit," said Lata Mangeshkar.

It features 17 suchactresses in the form of anecdotes and pictorial tribute from Jan 2013 to May 2014 and promises to be a delight for any Hindi movie buff.
