MUMBAI: The social service branch of the Mumbai police on Friday rescued a 13-year old girl who was found working as a domestic help at the house of an Andheri businessman.
The girl has been sent to a rescue home. The Amboli police have registered an offence under the Child Labour Act against Harish Pushwani for employing the minor. The police said the victim hails from Jharkhand. A Jharkhand-based NGO had filed a complaint with the Mumbai police, alleging the girl was pushed into domestic work by a Delhi-based placement service.
