MUMBAI: Local residents of Navsari bazar area of the city have made a written representation to municipal commissioner and asked him to get high speed Jari Machines running in residential areas. They have also said that despite their repeated written and oral complaints no steps have been taken against the noise pollution caused by these machines running illegally.
A resident from Bambakhana area of Navsari bazar said, "These machines are running completely in illegal construction and are not permitted to be run in residential areas. Still number of such machines are causing large amount of noise pollution and damaging the nearby properties through their vibrations. We will start an agitation if our plaint is not heeded now."
People of this area have been up in arms and have peacefully demonstrated and made complaints to the authorities. However till now no steps are taken by the local body and as result now the residents have decided to try one last time. "This is the last time that we are giving a memorandum to the municipal commissioner. After this we will be left with no option but to start an agitation because it is causing a lot of mental agony to us." Said another resident and added, "It is also affecting the children in their studies."
