MUMBAI: "The employees in MMRDA have played a key role in maintaining a cordial bond despite the huge responsibilities. Without their active support, Mumbai would not have seen completion of key projects such as Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar Metro corridor, Chembur-Wadala Monorail corridor, Eastern Freeway, Santacruz-Chembur Link Road, Amar Mahal Junction flyover, Sahar Elevated Road," said Metropolitan commissioner UPS Madan.

He was addressing staffers at the MMRDA's 40th anniversary celebrations at Shanmukhananda hall in Matunga on Friday.

On the occasion, he also stated that the authority will consider "reimbursing the medical bills of the parents of all women employees."

"We are very happy that the metropolitan commissioner has considered our various demands in a positive manner. We are sure MMRDA's women employees will be pleased at his encouraging promise," said Siddharth Satvadhir of the Backward Class Employees' Association.
