The 16-year-old was friendly to the 24-year-old accused Sandesh Vinerkar, who works for a private firm in Virar. According to the teenager, Vinerkar took her out on the pretext of introducing her to his friends on many occasions in September and October. He then raped her.
The girl registered a complaint with the Virar police following which Vinerkar has been booked for rape. No arrest has been made.
