Central Railway services affected after branches of tree fall on Over Head Equipment at Dadar station

MUMBAI: Suburban train services on the main line of Central Railway (CR) were disturbed during the evening peak hour after branches of a tree fell on the Over Head Equipment (OHE) at Dadar station at around 6pm.

CR spokesperson said, "Trains services on the CST-bound fast track were stopped. We will have to take emergency block to clear the branches and rectify the OHE. However, train services on the adjoining track were not affected."

The incident will start affecting train traffic in Kalyan-bound direction from CST.

An official said, "If the trains do not come on time at CST, it will not be possible to run services in opposite direction. There are bound to be delays of 25 to 30 minutes, depending on the time taken to restore the services at Dadar. There are likely to be significant number of cancellation in service too to in order to maintain punctuality."
