MUMBAI: Unknown persons broke into the flat of a Vasai family and decamped with cash and valuables worth Rs 17 lakhs. The family was visiting the Velankani Church in Chennai.
Blossom Dsouza (37) complained to the Vasai police about the theft in her Tamtalao residence in Vasai west. Laptops, camera, cell phones, gold ornaments and cash were missing. The family was away between June 5 and 8. They returned on Sunday and learnt about the house-breaking.
Police said that the thieves would have known that the house was vacant. The job of an insider has not been ruled out.
