Accused cop moves Bombay high court to quash FIR

MUMBAI: Former encounter specialist Emmanual Amolik who is accused of killing Navi Mumbai builder Sunil Lahoria and also accused of attempting to kill Lahoria's son Sandeep, has now filed a writ petition before the high court for quashing of second FIR against him.

Sources said that Amolik's application for quashing of second FIR filed by Thane police in March this year, is likely to come up for hearing on Monday.

In March Thane crime branch had lodged an fresh FIR against builder Suresh Bijlani, Amolik, Sanjay Birajdar alias Patil, Rupesh Singh, Mahesh Bijlani and Anuragh Garg. They allegedly hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Sandeep as he had become an "obstacle" for them in getting bail in murder of Lahoria case.

Rupesh Singh a criminal arrested by Mumbai crime branch had told police that Amolik had asked him to keep a watch on Sandeep Lahoria who was persuing his father's case in court. Loharia was shot dead outside his office in Vashi on February 16 last year in which police have arrested nine persons including Amolik, Bijlani and Garg.
